Topic: LAST NOTICE: Posting in the correct sections.

Hello fellow 9g-ners,

It's been tough trying to get everyone to post accordingly in the right sections, but we've put out many warnings about this and it doesn't seem to help at all. We've been removing topics and it still doesn't seem to help.

This is an inconvenience for the MOD team and everyone else. It doesn't help new members at all because if it's a knowledgeable topic, they might miss it if it's posted in the wrong section. A subject about the intake/engine that is posted in the general discussion.

Additionally, our picture and video section. If it has NOTHING related to Lancers, please post in the off topic.

This is the last notice we will put out and after this if we see it continue, we will start issuing warnings and possible temporary bans if necessary.

Here is an example. First page of the general discussion and there are numerous threads that should not belong here.
1. aero & exterior
2. aero & exterior or if necessary, post two separate topics.
3. interior, audio, electrical.
     - however, since we don't have a specific section for this; we might allow/ignore it.
4. interior, audio, electrical.
5. interior, audio, electrical.
     - ditto to #3
6. suspension
7. suspension/interior
     - ditto to #3
8. suspension

I moved a few of those that obviously belong in another section, but some of them are still in the general section.  It's sometime unclear where they should actually be posted and most members will just use the general section without giving it much thought, but I'll move anything that I think should be in another section when I catch it.

This has really started getting on my nerves too. I mean c'mon guys, not EVERYTHING goes in general discussion.

The problem I'm having with where I post my stuff is if I should post it in the Lancer or Ralliart sections, as a lot of the time there's a lot of overlap.

This is a common problem on a lot of forums.  It is an user's responsibility but sometime it is hard to educate people.

damn. When i started at 9gLancers.com, I was absolutely worthless with posting in the correct place. I have much improved where I post stuff. I try my damndest to get everything in the right spots, but somehow I still feel yall are pointing fingers at me. Everytime I do something new, or have something to share, who do i think of? Yeah, the 9gL family. Shit like this almost makes me want to not post. Makes me scared to post, cuz I might post in the wrong spot. Yall say "the search box is your best friend", but everytime I use it, it always shows me stuff that I was never looking for. I do admit a recent post of mine entitled I need a light off...anyone know how was in general discussion where as it needs to be in interior, audio and electrical. There are also times I post something somewhere, and then realize its in the wrong spot and wish i knew how to move it to avoid all of this, but dont know how. Anyway, what Im getting at is that I believe I have gotten better at this.

We are not pointing fingers at anyone and this is directed toward everyone. We look at the topic title and the board it's in when we go and do our maintenance. I will not lie to you and say that I didn't notice a few of them were yours. I did, and this is something we want to pass onto everyone.

It's just a matter of making this place better for all new members and old. I am the admin and at times I believe I do come off harsh and I do contemplate a lot whenever I make threads like this but it's always as a last resort.

You have always been able to step up and man up like this so I do thank you. Takes a lot to do so and again, this wasn't directly toward anyone.

Is it possible to delete a thread after you made it? For example, I made one for help picking an exhaust, and now I already bought the exhaust so I can get rid of the thread.

I think you could remove General thread to make us think harder to post in an appropriate section...
