good post , right out of service manual . Which if you own a lancer you should have and read.

This was the most detailed view of our CVT that I have seen so far. I am very impressed by the depth of the document. The charts that show the transmissions functions under different load/speed conditions were very helpful. It was interesting to see what happens when certain faults trigger, ie sport mode lock out, etc... It also described the belt structure and function, which was also interesting. Again, great find, everyone with a CVT should have this.
