Topic: Car of the month

I know we've car of the month for the magazine but there's not really active.

My suggestion is that we should have a simple car of the month voting where people submit pictures of their car with a little brief description about their car.

Say for example, we create a single post, people then submit pictures of their car with a brief description about their car.  The submission period runs for the first 2 weeks of each month then an moderator or administrator creates a poll for voting.  The voting will run till end of month then we announce the winner.

I think Everyone should each nominate up to 3 cars, then Top 4-5? get on the ballot.  Lastly voting for ROTM.

Dirty Impreza does a "Dirty car of the month" thing where first there is a thread where everyone who wants to compete posts their picture, then at the end of the month a thread goes up where you vote and bam, someone wins sponsored prizes.

But this site isnt about being dirty so it would need a different catch. Riciest car? Biggest drop? Biggest exhaust size? Smallest penis? Who knows the categories are endless.

If this wasn't a problem for us, we would be having featured rides every month. Unfortunately, like our featured ride; about 90% of the members are free loaders and am not willing to post/comment/vote unless they need help, then gets mad when no one helps them because its an issue that's been beateb to death.

Like Steve said, no one wants to see pictures of a bunch of stock lancers and it'll eventually lead to that. It'll be a pointless cycle of probably a bumch of so. cal cars mostly. Haha, since no one else is really that active.

Don't see it happening soon because it will take away many of our options when we do, do a featured ride.

I like the idea itself honestly. But i do understand what tats is saying and it does make sense. I think take this idea and if some of us could think of some ways to modify the idea some to make it work and avoid the probs tats is talking about then it would be great!

good idea. but if it's just "ride of the month" it'll just be the same pictures over and over again. lets get some themes in there. like, mix in a bit of a photography thing into this. "best night shot" "best macro shot of your car" etc. things like that perhaps?

or how about you vote on like 3 or 4 cars or so, but you cant pick your own....and nothing too stock....just my opinion....
