I just got mine in the mail...and i mean I am by no means an expert auto mechanic/electrician.

But I mean I can change oil/do brakes/ wire an amp...etc etc etc.

I am mildly worried about the whole oven thing...but my oven is electric which helps get an exact temp. I mean yea I'm worried the lights could melt...but 215 degrees is pretty low.

Not to mention it's not like a cake. We aren't putting in it for 15-20 minutes and testing the thing with a toothpick. I am confindent that it won't be a big deal as well as you are prepared. Do it in intervals (i'm doing 2 minutes...then 2 more, etc.) The problem would be if you had the wrong temp, or baked them too long. But I mean I'll be sitting there waiting.

2 minutes, i'll check, 2 more, etc, etc. As long as you take your time..and are fully paying attention my worries have somewhat dissolved. I have been wanting to do this mod for months...and I finally have built the guts to do so.

I will keep you all posted on the outcome, I am by no means being boastful here but I am confident that with careful timing and preparation...things will be fine. Wish me luck!

And I saw the cheaper alternative as well, but decided to go with our sponsor. I heard they may be brighter...and even if not, automoglow sounds like a good guy/team. And man o man! the packaging is amazing. 100% professional.

Just got mine in the mail saturday...cant wait to install em!

2 quick questions...

1. Did you just use the double sided tape? or did you use clear silicone?

2. How'd you end up wiring em? Switch or to the drls?

well 1st i used the double sided tape lol but i messed up on some pieces cuz it stuck to the paint on my highs but it ended up pealing the paint.. lol so each halo is with 3 pieces of tape double sided. its a gud quality tape.. i was guna use silicone but it might get all messy ang stuff.. as u can see in the pic i posted up top u can see the tape.. lol i wired them to my parking lights.. not to the drl.. lol alot of cops looks at me and pointed.. ha.. i hope i never get stopped.. |death| (knock on wood x3) lol

but this is wat i did..
215 is pretty good enough.. higher than that can melt the housing if u leave it in there too long.. i preheat it to 215 conventional oven mode.. its best to put on conventional.. so it goes around. heat up to 5 mins..but total for each headlight single i did was 7min max . remeber remove bulbs.. lol ha.. then i pop open each clip and in one corner i pry to open one spot.. the epoxy  get really soft.. i used a large flat head screwdriver and open from the top.... it gets alil messy but later on i was able to open with my hands.. its kinda hard to open but its more ezer if u loosen each part of like evey clip area pry to open little by little.. took me 10 mins to open..

after all that i put the halo then i drilled a hole on top of the headlight.. (the black housing) to put the wires thru..
i sealed that with silicone and next was to put them back together..  but first i tested it if it will work.. lol and shaked it hard to see if it was guna fall off. lol |grin| then instead of using the oven again (i was scared the ae wud be damage due to high heat..)
so i used a high heat gun temp at 1000 degrees. i heated up each side. each spot i went tru was about 10 sec max then to another spot.. i did it twice in both sides.. then i squeezed them together |tongue| and used soo much force i had and got the clips together.. (i saw it alil and it did go all the way in) so wat i did i heated up the spot where it was aliltl off and squeezed that area again..

ill post some pics of how i did it.. kinda shown but i dont hav any pics putting it in an oven..
but remember using a heat gun and over 10sec in one spot can melt the plastic.. lol |grin|
but u if guys want a full step of how to.. jst pm.. im gladly to help u guys out  |azn| |azn|
Loving mah car!!!!!!!!!!

JmS_LaNcEr_08 .. You think the AE's are good enough to drive through the night time ? Or you gotta switch to your low beams ?

AE's dont produce enough light for night time usage. You need to use your low beams.

Im new to angel eyes so i have a couple questions whats the purpose of the ballasts ive heard of people wiring them to the drl's and what not and do you think having 55w Hid's in your lows and angel eyes would be to hot for the lenses. thanks

Well the wiring to the drl is so that the AE's are on instead of your original drl (low beams).

55W HiDs low beam with AE's would not be too hot. AE's are basically LED lights.

If you plan on getting the AE's you might want to wire them to a switch that turns them on instead of automatically turning on with your car.

Thanks for the help gfxcraig ill probably take your advice and wire them to a switch.

This looks awesome. Kind of like BMW's angel eyes, but it also matches the Lancer's tails too.

I was wondering the same thing but along the lines of a 55w HID melting the halo rings... Anyone have 55w HID's and these automoglow AE's?

It's not a sure answer but I really doubt the AEs would get melted but I run 35watt HIDs
