I just received my ARS Bodykits HL Rear Lip (RUS6161) today.  This will be the thread I use to keep you guys updated.

- Ordered the part on March 14th 2009
- Send payment for shipping on April 1st 2009
- Received the part on April 14th 2009

As you can see the turn around time is an estimate of 1 month so please be patience if you order from ARS Bodykits.

The HL Rear Lip is shipped in two pieces.
It has a male and a female end where you can put the two pieces together.
It even came with stickers!

Yay!  It fits perfectly.  The cutting is great!

Due to my work schedule, the body shop and I agreed that we'll be painting it in two pieces.  The seam you see right now is because the rear lip/diffuser are just bolt on.  It is held by the bolts from my Rally Armor Mud Flaps.  The paint is fresh, it just got painted yesterday therefore the body shop said it would be better to wait it dry for couple of days before putting glue on there.  He want to make sure when he pushes it, it will not leave any fingerprint on the paint.

I'll be bringing it back on Saturday for the final installation.  The rear lip/diffuser is currently off.  These pictures are just a simple test fit.








Installation is completed.  My thoughts on it is that it made the car more complete.  I do have a regret that I should have the body shop to do it in one piece instead of two pieces.  The body shop technician recommended to do it in two pieces.
During the installation, we originally thought we could have it to hold up using double-sided 3M tape but failed.  We ended up drilling 4 holes on the bottom of the bumper. to make sure it stays still.  The two sides are tighten by the same screws for the mud flaps.

Rear lip will be color match and the diffuser will be flat back.
I hope the body shop will not rip me off for the paint because I'm doing it in two colors.     But we'll see when I ask around.

nice... nice to be able to see one that isn't already painted and fitted tot he car.  Makes it easier to see the details.  My mind has been in over drive thinking about the one I ordered and whether not I might need to mod it.... I can not see I will want to mod it a little to put my personal touch on the part.

$45 dollars for mine.  It is all depending on the packaging and where it is shipping to.  I would say expect shipping to be around $40 to $50 dollars.

The piece itself is $71 USD + $45 USD shipping = $116 USD total.  Again, shipping charge can be vary depending on where you live and how they package it.

It'll be $250.00 for paint and install.  The paint job includes couple layer of paint and clear coat.
I got a curb rash on wheel again!  My bronze wheel!    The body shop said he can fix that also.  That's also included in the $250 quote.

Yea... I think I'll leave it as stock.   I don't want to draw much attention.  It's not a brembo.

Dropped it off at the body shop today.  We did a basic test fit, it appears the width is a little bit too short, the side of the rear lip has a little gap that needs to fill.

Other than that it is okay.

The body shop will paint it and then I'll go back for the installation possibly this Thursday, if not on the weekend.

Expect to see pictures later this week.

Bondo isn't really that hard to work with. You just gotta be patient with it. I already bondo my rear lip. Just waiting on the paint to come in.

  Too bad the bodyshop didn't do it for you before it was painted. It would be easy to do but you'd have to get the part repainted.

Just do it! LOL. The Greddy SE and the Magnaflow cat-back are 2 of the quieter exhausts. I like both cause I'm personally not a fan of the "rocket launcher" look of certain exhausts like the Ti-C, etc. It will really finish off the rear of your car I think and look sick with the rear lip.

Some updates...

I am bringing back my car to the shop tomorrow to have them fill up the gap.  The shop owner said he'll do it, no problem.

In addition to that, I'll have him to color match my front grill.  Since I applied my front bumper with clear bra, I don't want to do the black-out since I'll have to rip out my clear bra, so I decided to color match my front grill.

Expect more pictures late this week.

So went down to 3 diff shops to get quotes for the rear lip. 1st shop quoted me $200 for paint and install. 2nd shop quoted me @ $150 cause I took my car to them to fix my trunk so they gave me a deal. The 3rd shop that is suppose to be the best shop in town looked over the pics and told me for paint and install it would be... $1100. I laughed so hard when he said that that he got mad at me. I told him that I got 2 other quotes for $200 or under and he told me that I was full of sh** and was trying to trick him to get a better price. I guess I won't be going back there.

BTW the 3rd shops owner had his original Shelby GT500 sitting in front of the shop

Yup, I am very happy right now!  The next thing on my to do list is the exhaust.  I'm still debating which one to get but very likely will be the one you've.

oh... I had it done originally at a shop.  I just bring it back and told him to fill the gap and also paint my front grill (see my other post).  It's $250 for paint and install.  No additional charge to fill the gap.  The shop owner is a very nice person.  He definitely just gained a new loyal customer.

IMO, that's the best rear kit available right now for the lancer.. Accolade's comes in a real close 2nd.  That's why I got mine as well!  hopefully will get it this week from the paint shop..
