I left my car @ Road Race saturday after everyone got their stuff Installed at the meet. They got started Monday, Tuesday it was in, Wednesday was spent tuning/datalogging my car then later that afternoon I picked it up.

There are (typically) 3 deal-killers for just about any guy that pm's or calls Rob to ask about the CVT Turbo Kit.1. They don't wanna be the 1st2. They thought they'd get the turbo for free.3. Not enough fundsonce those 3 options are explained the call usually ends right there. Can't say I blame anyone. But as long as nobody steps up everyone will keep asking Road Race for it. Very nice, you know Brain also got his Lancer turbo'd not to long ago.
Doing some research on Turbo's in general I learned that a turbo (while not in boost) does an excellent job at atomizing the incoming air which translates to not having alot of unburned fuel in your system. making it more effecient.So because my drive to work is all freeway I can drive like Miss Daisy and still see the benefits of having a turbo. Score one for Split Second Tuning!.....again.
Yup, I saw a video of some technician actually explaining that. I think that is also why most luxury cars are turbo-ing their cars. It saves gas if you don't boost it every second.
Adam:I got 400+ miles to my first tank. I have to fill up today before i leave work. I'm at about 390 and the tank just said empty. meaning i have another couple gallons before i have nothing in the tank. Im happy. Very happy.

Two thumbs up!What bothers me is that, Why cant you dyno it and have a hard evidence of your gains?? with all due respect i am not demanding or anything at all, just really curious about it, Now you can tell me to buy my own turbo and dyno it your self which is understandble but, isnt it gonna benefit you more to know how much gains u achieved vs having it all stock and share it to us?? now im thinking since theres a few of people have already installed turbo on their lancers and you will obviously notice that they dont have any dyno yet, im thinking.1. Either RRM made them sign not to tell anybody about the gains achieved with their turbo because it just came out and would still need some more tweaking in the future so it wont ruin their production and cash flow (business wise) 2. Turbo'd lancer Owners just dont have time or money to do this (Why turbo it in the first place??)3. Turbo'd Lancer owners dont wanna mess their engines yet because its still in the break in process? Well maybe in a year your thoughts and priorities could change, but i'd tell anyone who was in a position to get a X to get the X. Much much more of a stronger block (not to mention warranty protection). I don't need alot of horsepower or AWD so this is why turbo'ing my lancer made sense to me. So in a nutshell you'd have to ask yourself if you're MISSING something from this lancer or if you're just MISSING an oppurtunity to drive a bad-a* track-machine like a X.

in fact i've already decided that before i buy brake pads/rotors and also before a stage 3 clutch from ACT that a vented carbon hood is next up. my clutch is still decent, and so are the brakes. being in traffic in the summer heat will make me think non-stop about all the hotness underneath. do....not....want

I think it's pretty damn hard to find an evo x hood. But you should definitly get one, it'd make your car look sweet, on top of that you got some go to back it up! Plus the release of the hot air.

if you were at the dyno meet, you woulda seen. We had socal3g, socal4g, and us there to see that my numbers are on par with a stock RA. and im pushing half the boost.people were like "dude phuck the RA". Props left and right for a 75+hp kit.

the 2 turbos are not the same size so saying you have the same power with lower boost is somewhat deceiving. The RA requires high boost to produce those hp #s because the turbo is small.Good job on your turbo though , those are still some impressive #'s but to the ppl who said phuck the RA haha my RA has never been beaten by a boosted GTSno offence you have a great car but my RA will smoke any GTSits like me comparing the RA to the Evoeven though i can beat a stock Evo, a modded Evo will leave me in the dust

so besides the turbo you're pretty much stock and you still havent blown it up
no one makes forged rods or pistons for the car yet. which is why we can't turn up the boost on the cars.
from what i hear. Evo X cams and rods and pistons fit in our block. just needa get re sleved and such... so pretty much just gotta re do the compression rate also, HKS parts fit too

Picked up some Motor Mounts about a week ago. Wanted to drive it around a bit before making any kind of review. @ Idle the car vibrates a little bit more then it used to. It's not noticeable all the time, only sometimes. The car isnt any louder or violent at high rpm's then it was when it was N/A. In stock form the OEM motor mounts allow for a lot of movement. Now that i've placed these new mounts in the shifting feels more direct as a result of keeping the engine more in-place then the OEM mounts. I'll see if i can get a picture of the stock mounts. I can't take pics of the new mounts because they are already on the car.

Car is still running fine. in fact got over 400 miles to the tank last tank. 7psi on stock internals. No leaks, no overheating yet *knocks on wood*

Be careful with the 4b12 and boost. Its higher compression, and stroked, so more potential for catastrophe. New internals may be necessary.
That's what I'm looking forward to I just need to go about it as carefully as possible and not be all like " OMG I want turbo now!!" and then I have to ride a bike 14 miles to work. I don't know whether to just save that fat cash and buy the kit or buy a piece at a time when I find deals. At least with the kit, if I decide against it I can just use the cash for something else. Buying parts will probably save me money, but I'm stuck with just parts if I change my mind.

I've been trying to find RA/EVO parts but the only things I can find are the stock turbo's. Having trouble finding intercooler, piping, manifold, etc. I've found aftermarket parts for the EVO, but I don't know if they would work with the 4b12. I'm kind of learning as I go. Fun stuff
