they use 5W-30
thats fine im thinking?

someone correct me if im wrong, but our engine takes 5W-20. i'd maybe look into that.

Ya some ppl wouldnt think about oiling the ring on the filter but that little bit of oil is what gives you that good seal! I must say this even tho im sure you all know but with having such fine threads on the filter ALWAYS be sure its not cross threaded when installing Ugh that would turn out bad lol.

Thanks for this DIY.

Used the following - Mobil 1 (5w-20 Synthetic and M1110 oil filter), torque wrench with 17mm socket, filter wrench (F), pair of ramps.
My car does not have the drain pug gasket. I will purchase it next time -MDO50317.

Thank you for the write-up!

FYI
(*) It's good enough to hand-tight the filter.
(*) Oiling filter gasket will make it easier to remove the filter on the next oil change. :) And it's less likely to leave some rubber mark as the filter is removed.
(*) I prefer oil filter with silicon gasket.
