I cant find anythign about it on Mitsubishi's media site, but that doesnt mean its not true, just premature.

If they do offer an AWD non turbo, I think the thing would be an absolute dog.  Think of the Outlander Sport, that has a 2.0L non turbo with AWD and every article I have read about the thing says its a dam slug.

True, and I do see that the Outlander SE comes with a 2.4L (168hp) and optional AWD.  If they used that in the Lancer it would be more competitive with the subaru base 2.5L (170hp) AWD.

the japanese models have AWD available on their na lancers. But they're even worse, they're using the 4b10 which is the 1.8 liter. I wonder if the US model will follow suit to keep the cost down.

The GTS have a 2.4L engine already (aside from 2008). It'd just be the base lancer vs the base impreza that would be lacking in terms of power.

Dude I know, I have one, I was just saying hopefuly the AWD will be an option on a 2.4L version instead of the 2.0L so it would be more competitive with what Subaru has to offer.

that would be cool. i'll give this thread another half page before the question of converting 2011< lancers to AWD and how hard/easy it would be.

Well someone over on PL works at a mitsubishi dealership and said the 2012 lancer gts will be avaliable in AWD

The non WRK/STI Subaru's come with all wheel drive and they aren't to slow.  About as slow as the GTS is right now.  If mitsu can work it out right then it would still be a formidable option in the all wheel drive category.

one of the only reasons i regret buying my lancer is that it sucks in winter haha. awd would be so nice when it decides to snow 12+inches
