A little tall for my tastes, but it looks good enough. Since you are the one driving it beauty is in the eye of the beholder right? Are you going to get it color matched?

I actually had to drill 2 holes as neither one matched up with the holes from the GTS spoiler. Then I patched the old third hold with vinyl.

I've always loved the old Evo spoilers on these cars. It fits the body so well.
I've never seen one that wasn't color-matched though. Personally, I'd say paint the outside of the two pillars holding up the spoiler, and leave the rest CF.
This is my signature. I currently have none. I hope you have enjoyed my non-signature.

me gusta. ive been wanting to do this as well, but havent found a decent priced one that isnt all cf. on a side note, if you look at the last pic it looks like a uni-brow face (spoiler, tails, plate) or maybe im just seeing things

Right on I couldn't tell if it was black or cf, but yeah I would definitely keep it that way.  The more I look at it the more I like it.   :thumbsup

It actually looks like it fits the car, but I think it would really stand out if it were color matched. Unless you go two tone black/white all over the car or it is CF, IMHO If I saw it on the street it would come across like you just did not have the cash to get it painted to me.

Maybe some black rims to tie it together?

I second this.  It might look better color matched, but it looks a bit "boxy" to be on our sleek curved Lancers.  It just doesnt look right, sorry  :(

Since we threw the banner up, seems like everyone is doing it. ;d

It looks good from certain angles and weird in others. As long as you like it, it's your car. How about this one? ;)

I'm loking the look of the cf, but as some others said, I think I would get at least the outer edge of the sides color matched, just to help the flow a little better.. and tatsujo, that pic you posted looks pretty sweet   ;)

I have always been a fan of tall spoilers on cars that have a reason to use them. (ie: awd or rwd cars, not cars like the cobalt ss or srt4 neon.)  I love the look of the evo x spoiler and the IX also.  IMO the older spoilers look good on our cars but I would either color match or black out just the bottom and leave the top body color.

I actually had the evo 9 wing on my car, when I went lowered, I replaced it, and cf wrapped my trunk. Definitely miss this look, but wingless is for me :)

WHile I agree with your statement, if you lookup the flow dynamics of the RA, GTS, and EVO, you will see that Mitsubishi put a shit ton of work into developing the SSS and non-SSS spoilers for our car. Putting the 8/9 wing on it completely negating all the R&D that went into the spoiler that comes on these cars, and is more than likely doing less for you than if you left it stock.... however it seems a lot of people could care less about function and just want something that looks cool and will sacrifices performance for it. Owners choice, just want to make sure everyone is aware of the facts.

Im not a fan of tall spoilers and I dont think the older evo spoilers look good on 9g lancers - I dont even think they look good on older evos.

I agree, the R&D is one thing to consider for the performance aspect, so for a performance based 9g I would go with the evo X spoiler but for show, I think the older IX one sets our cars apart from most others.  But yeah, owners choice for sure.

I spy a bunch of 3000GTs in your pictures.  How about a 99 3000GT VR4 Combat Wing =D?

I have a 99 VR4 wing laying around, maybe I'll test fit it just to see what it looks like.  I do love my stock GTS wing the best though.
